Your mandate will be to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Special Claims Department. Are you looking for a new challenge and eager to contribute to the company’s growth objectives? If so, keep reading to discover the skills and qualifications you’ll need to thrive at AGA!
Your main tasks will include:
Manage the resources of the special claims team and TELUS process
- Validate processing times and adjust work schedules as needed;
- Validate timesheets and vacation periods;
- Verify employee quotas and conducted quality audits;
- Implement specialized training;
- Handle the selection of staff in their department;
- Conduct performance evaluation meetings, etc.;
Support for operations
- Implementation and review of special claims processes;
- Implementation or review of TELUS products, practices, or improvements;
- Participates in projects related to claims operations;
- Contribute to continuous improvement within the special claims team;
- Align the team's vision with the deputy director of regular claims;
- Responsible for removing operational/project blockers affecting their team;
- Responsible for achieving the operational goals of their team;
Change Management
- Responsible for operational change management;
- Ensure good communication and clear directives are conveyed to the team;
Monitoring operational performance
- Ensure the implementation of dashboard indicators and share the results with management;
- Implement solutions or changes when results are not achieved – production and quality;
Forecast Development
- Participate in setting up forecasts with management;
- Monitor these forecasts and share them with management to make necessary adjustments within the team;
Quality Management
- Participate in defining best practices for compliance and customer experience with management;
- Apply best practices for compliance and customer experience within the team;
- Implement solutions or changes when results are not achieved.
Required Qualifications:
- University degree or equivalent experience;
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in group insurance;
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in health and dental claims;
- Knowledge of the medical field, nursing, or any other health-related area;
- Management skills and experience in human resources supervision;
- Knowledge of the TELUS Health system is a significant asset;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
- Excellent command of both English and French, spoken and written (Proficiency in English is required, as administrative transactions must be processed in both languages. A detailed analysis and thorough understanding of contractual administrative information related to insurance enrollments and changes—free of errors—are also essential);
- Attention to detail and thoroughness;
- High level of autonomy (ability to work independently and prioritize tasks);
- Ability to demonstrate judgment, integrity, and honesty;
- Skill in maintaining confidentiality of information;
- Customer service orientation;
- Versatility, resourcefulness, and independence;
