Your mandate will consist in:

Your mandate will consist in designing, developing, and optimizing business intelligence solutions. You will build and maintain data pipelines, enhance tabular models, develop robust tables and views, and create high-performing dashboards to support decision-making. You will apply best practices in data management and governance, contribute to the evolution of the BI ecosystem (Snowflake) through optimization and automation, and collaborate closely with teams to translate business needs into technical solutions. Your main tasks will include:

Data Development and Integration

• Enhance existing tabular models in Snowflake by creating calculated tables, SQL views, star schemas, and implementing advanced optimizations to improve performance and analytical capabilities;

• Design, develop, maintain, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines and data models;

• Perform targeted transformations in the final data layers (views, filtering, business logic adjustments) to deliver analysis-ready datasets;

Performance, Quality, and Governance 

• Optimize SQL queries, data pipelines, and reports to ensure optimal performance of tabular models and data workflows;

• Monitor, diagnose, and resolve issues related to data loads, as well as data quality and consistency within the final data layers;

• Ensure data integrity, security, and governance, while continuously automating and improving BI processes;

Analytics, Visualization, and Collaboration

• Design and maintain Power BI dashboards (KPIs, DAX, optimized data models);

• Analyze data, identify anomalies, and validate data quality to support informed decision-making;

• Collaborate with BI analysts and internal teams to understand business needs and propose appropriate solutions;

Documentation, Tracking, and Continuous Improvement 

• Document data models, pipelines, business rules, and processes;

• Contribute to the evolution of the BI architecture and continuous improvement initiatives;

• Manage and update tasks and tickets in Jira;

• Perform any other tasks related to this role and of a similar nature as required.

Required Qualifications:

Formation et expérience Education and Experience

• University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Intelligence, Statistics, or a related field;

• 4 to 5 years of substantial experience in BI development, tabular model restructuring, and query optimization;

• Experience in data modeling (relational and multidimensional) and designing analytical solutions;

• Experience collaborating with business teams and BI analysts to understand and translate functional requirements. 

Technical Skills 

• Strong proficiency in SQL, including query optimization and stored procedure development;
• Self-sufficient in Python;
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools;
• Independent in Power BI: modeling, DAX, dashboard design, and report optimization;
• Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure, Snowflake, etc.);
• Understanding of best practices in data governance, security, and quality;
• Ability to clearly document processes, models, and business rules;
• Fluency in both French and English, spoken and written, to collaborate effectively with teams across Canada and perform a unique role within the BI team (Proficiency in both English and French is essential to analyze and understand contractual documents, brochures, and communications originating from internal and external sources, often written in either language. It is also required to provide telephone and email support to French speaking clients across Canada and to interact effectively with colleagues located outside the province).

Additional / Preferred Skills: Knowledge of Power BI Report Builder, DevOps/Docker, and familiarity with Agile methodologies would be an asset for this role.
