Your mandate will consist in...

Your mandate will consist of being responsible for verifying the eligibility of member movements and answering the requests received from group administrators. Read on to learn about the skills and qualifications required to thrive at AGA!

Your main tasks will include:

  • Validate and process the eligibility of member transactions received through portals and email, in accordance with group insurance rules and established procedures;
  • Review member files, obtain required information from group plan administrators, make appropriate eligibility decisions, and consult insurers regarding exceptions when necessary;
  • Prepare and send correspondence to members and/or group plan administrators;
  • Manage late enrollment requests, including sending and following up on health declarations and receiving insurers' decisions;
  • Reconcile outstanding balances and provide billing explanations to group plan administrators upon request;
  • Maintain administrative guides for specially managed groups and oversee the monthly administration of members and dependents in accordance with contractual provisions;
  • Process benefit claims (short- and long-term disability, waiver of premium, life insurance, and critical illness insurance), prepare confirmations, and forward claim files to insurers;
  • Perform the required follow-up on benefit claims, including return-to-work cases, the start and end of premium waivers, missing information, and other related matters;
  • Provide support to the Membership Administration Clerk, as needed;
  • Participate in testing during the implementation or enhancement of AGA +PLUS service tools and software;
  • Deliver excellent internal and external customer service;
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

  • College diploma;  
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in group insurance;
  • Attention to detail, thoroughness and commitment to deadlines;
  • Good sense of customer service;
  • Ability to protect confidential information;
  • Versatility, resourcefulness and ability to work independently;
  • Very good command of English and French, both spoken and written (bilingualism is required because the administrative transactions to be processed are distributed in both languages and require detailed analysis and in-depth understanding of contractual administrative information for error-free enrolments and insurance changes);
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
