Your mandate will consist in:

Your mandate will be to provide service to clients with pension plans (governance reports, pension committee support, employee presentations, etc.), as well as to provide leadership to the Quebec retirement team. The successful candidate will also actively contribute to new business development in retirement and to the visibility and growth of the practice. Your main tasks will include:

Leadership and Team Management

  • Directly supervise advisors and specialists within the Quebec retirement savings team;
  • Establish and communicate annual objectives for team members under their supervision, periodically monitor performance, and implement improvement plans as needed;
  • Provide technical and professional leadership in one or more components of the practice;
  • Contribute to the development of the practice and the training of team members.

Advisory Services and Client Relationship Management

  • Conduct courtesy visits with groups under their responsibility to maintain strong relationships, build lasting business connections with group administrators, and support them in problem resolution;
  • Conduct courtesy visits with partner brokers to maintain strong relationships, build lasting business connections, and support them in problem resolution and new business development;
  • Ensure governance reports are prepared within stipulated timelines, analyze and validate information, and present reports to group administrators and/or brokers;
  • Explain the various features of pension plans to group administrators or plan members through calls, meetings, or information sessions;
  • Support other advisors in business development and in the administrative and/or technical follow-up of their files;
  • Coordinate the implementation and enrollment of new groups, as well as the transfer of existing groups, and follow up on information requests;
  • Collaborate with partners/insurers by providing all required information and forms during the sale of a group, a new plan, a group transfer, or a group termination.

Business Development

  • Actively participate in the development of new retirement business;
  • Promote the company’s exclusive and related products and identify business opportunities;
  • Represent AGA Benefit Solutions at conventions or conferences, facilitate training sessions as a presenter or resource person, and produce event reports;
  • Gather market intelligence on methods, products, procedures, and other information that may help AGA improve service quality while proposing constructive solutions;
  • Actively participate in sales and SWAT meetings.

Qualifications required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science and F.S.A./F.I.C.A. designation or equivalent education;
  • More than 10 years of experience in pension plans;
  • Hold a Group Insurance and Annuity Certificate issued by the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF);
  • Very good knowledge of social legislation;
  • Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite;
  • Excellent command of English and French, both spoken and written (Proficiency in both English and French is essential to analyze and understand contractual documents, brochures, and communications originating from internal and external sources, often written in either language. It is also required to provide telephone and email support to French speaking clients across Canada and to interact effectively with colleagues located outside the province);
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication;
  • Ability to negotiate, influence, and rally team members; strong political acumen;
  • Demonstrate sound judgment, integrity, and honesty;
  • Protect the confidentiality of information entrusted to AGA by clients.
