AGA Benefit Solutions, in partnership with Novacap, is pleased to announce the acquisition of J&D Benefits. Based in Markham Ontario, J&D Benefits offers customized benefit administration services, specializing in multi-provider, flexible benefits, and multi-employer platforms.

The acquisition will provide the J&D team with the resources and network necessary to expand operations nationwide. In addition to sharing the same values, both companies are committed to simplifying administration and focusing on customer service. AGA and J&D will work closely together to ensure a smooth transition and integrate the highly complementary product offerings into AGA's operations.
J&D Benefits’ activities will hence forth continue under the banner of AGA Benefit Solutions, Todd Rappitt, CEO at J&D Benefits, is now a shareholder and a Vice-President with AGA and will work closely with AGA CEO Martin Papillon to lead the scaling of J&D’s solutions across Canada.
With this transaction, AGA Benefit Solutions now has more than 2,600 clients, supports close to 155,000 members in the management and adjudication of their claims, totals more than $400 million in premiums and $320 million in group annuity assets.

Martin Papillon is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and holds an MBA from HEC Montréal. Throughout his career, he has been working in the group insurance and retirement sector. Before joining AGA in 2013, he held advisory and senior management positions with world-class consulting actuarial firms.
