AGA appoints Chantal Dufresne as COO and welcomes Michèle Jémus as CFO
AGA has recently restructured its management team to create two new positions designed to support its growth and adapt its structure to the needs of a larger company.
Chantal Dufresne, Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Chantal Dufresne joined AGA in 2013 as part of the ownership team that acquired AGA operations. She held the position of Senior Vice President, Finance and Operations, until her appointment as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Financial responsibilities will now be under the umbrella of our new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Michèle Jémus (see below).
As COO, Chantal Dufresne provides support for the governance of major projects prioritized by AGA’s management to achieve our value creation objectives, including our technological improvements and product development strategies. She will continue to oversee the Operations, Employee Experience, Marketing and Communications, and Legal teams so that they can fulfill their respective missions in line with our organization's vision. She will maintain her strong involvement in the analysis, due diligence and integration of our acquisition targets, as part of our growth as a nationwide player.
Ms. Dufresne has more than 25 years of experience in the operational management of small and medium-sized businesses. After holding management positions for PWC, Avalon Actuarial Consulting and Richter (formerly known as RSM Richter Chamberland), she also worked in a self-employed capacity for a few years prior to joining AGA. This background helped develop her skills and technical knowledge in financial accounting, management and administration. Ms. Dufresne holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Sciences from the Université du Québec à Montréal (ESG-UQAM), as well as the licence of Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA). A Chartered Director (C. Dir.), she also acts as a board member for other organizations and is currently Chairwoman of the Board of Directors for CPA Without Borders Canada.
Michèle Jémus, Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
As AGA’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Michèle Jémus will be responsible for leading the organization's financial strategy to cost-effectively execute its ambitious growth strategy, both organic and through acquisitions. She will play a key role in shaping and overseeing financial and business planning activities, including financial strategy, financial reporting planning and analysis, treasury and tax. This new position reflects AGA’s evolving needs and growing obligations to its partners and investors. It is a critical role for AGA’s scale and geographical reach, especially as we seek to continue to expand and pursue strategic acquisitions.
Ms. Jémus brings a wealth of experience from both the private and public sectors. She began her career at Raymond Chabot Grand Thornton (RCGT) and KPMG before holding senior finance positions at various organizations such as Biorthex, Elekta, and enGene. For six years, she was Chief Financial Officer of Canada Health Infoway, a government-funded organization transforming healthcare by delivering connected care solutions for Canadians. Before joining AGA, she was Head of Finance for Valsoft, a company specializing in acquiring and growing software firms. Ms. Jémus has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO) and a Master of Administrative Sciences from the Université de Sherbrooke, in addition to being a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA). She holds the ICD.D title from the Institute of Corporate Directors and has been a member of the Financière des professionnels (fdp) Board of Directors since 2020.
Both positions report directly to me. Please join me in wishing Chantal Dufresne a successful transition into her new role and in welcoming Michèle Jémus to the AGA team.
