Last July 1st, Chantal Dufresne, Senior Vice-President, Finance and Operations at AGA Benefit Solutions, was appointed Chairwoman of CPA Without Borders (CPAWB), after serving 2 years on the Board of Directors of this international cooperation organization.

Developing Local Skills

Established in 2013, CPAWB supports international cooperation organizations operating in developing countries. Their projects are aimed at developing skills in sound financial management, good governance, ethics, sustainable development, and any other topics related to the skillset of Chartered Professional Accountants.

CPAWB is Canada’s benchmark international organization for the improvement of living conditions in developing countries. Since 2016, a dozen initiatives were completed or are being carried out on the African continent and in the West Indies.

Reinforcing Mission-Critical Actions

“My mandate coincides with the implementation of our 2022-25 strategic plan, mainly aimed at reinforcing our mission-critical actions. Thus, our organization is relying on the growth of its operational team to continue upgrading the social and economic living conditions in developing countries through sound governance and financial literacy training, with due regard to diversity and local cultures”, said Chantal Dufresne. “I am proud that CPAWB is expanding the outreach of our profession on the national and international stage and providing a rewarding experience to CPAs of all ages!”, she was pleased to point out.
